First Week of School!!

Well.. I did it! I survived my first week of school. I have had a pretty rough start this year and have only survived because my love Woody has done SO much for me.

My classroom this year was being built and was "completed" on the Saturday before school started. By completed I mean it had walls and carpets haha. I was still missing: a clock, intercom, air conditioning, sufficient lighting, I have a couple holes in the wall, my windows weren't painted on the bottom, no coat hangers, no desks...... well you get the idea. :)

So Saturday afternoon my family came up and we got the job done! We turned my space into a cute looking classroom. Well one of the things I was missing was my cabinets... so on Wednesday after school the cabinet people came and unfortunately took out my reading corner for my cabinets :(

So Friday after school Woody came up and helped rearrange my classroom again! I am still supposed to get furniture like coat hangers, desks, filing cabinet. And I have an extra bookshelf I need to get rid of, so hopefully all of these things will be fulfilled :)

Other than my lovely classroom! School is going great! My kids and I had a rough first day, but every day they are getting better for me!!

Friday I was sssooo tired and was just not ready for a long day. So when the kids came in I decided we all needed to have some fun... SO we have this little stick with a fish on it that we use to point to things and we decided to name our fish.

We came up with lots of ideas like

wormy

goldie

toothless

Nemo

They even tried to get Mrs. Palmer in the mix, but I said there is only one Mrs. Palmer, I didn't want no fish named after me!

But the name that we came up with was.... Californiaespealadocious Wormy HAHAHHAHA my little boy said he got it off of a movie, so I'm sure it's supposed to be the long word from Mary Poppins, it was pretty close :)

We also earned some freeze dance by being extra good!

First Grade is hard work and I'm exhausted ALL THE TIME. But it's tons of fun and I already love it.

My Hubby is sooo cool

lately I have been major stressed. Stressed about starting school, teaching,and not having a classroom. Woody has been the best. He listens to me as I cry and whine about being stressed and then calms me down, makes lists with me of everything that I can do. He is just the best.

Today he went with me to run some errands, one of them to the teacher store. He loved it! He kept saying oo this is cute, you could get this. He helped me pick things out that would work for my theme, and gave me suggestions. And afterwards he said, this store is fun!

I just love him and am so grateful for him and how much he helps me and does everything he can to make my life easier.

for Brighton's birthday this year we bought him a T-ball and it was a total success!! He has gotten pretty good at it too

His birthday was a while ago, but it took me forever to upload the pictures so I decided to post them anyways
Welcome to my school!!! Wood went up with me on Saturday to drop off my bookcase and laminate some stuff so I had him take a quick picture of my new home away from home!
Good news: The new date for my classroom to be done is on the 22nd!! I sure hope it is :)

Today, I painted

My sweet sister Shani had donated lots of things to my classroom, one being this lovely bookcase!! Well I decided it needed to be spruced up a bit! (P.S. that is an article of clothing hanging from the tree in the upper right hand corner... my neighbors are wishing for a clothes line)

So I took some red painted and some paint bruises and a tarp :)
and painted!! And woody painted too! AND I wish I had stood farther away so you could get the effect of looking through the bookshelf at woody, o well I'm working on it!
And here is the final product! I think it looks good if I do say so myself. AND sorry for the shadows it was being very picky as to where it would stay standing.. it's stubborn

Back to School!!

I can NOT believe that it's already August and school is starting sssoo soon! Today I went down to my school to drop off all of the stuff that Shani had donated to my classroom and to kind of get started with everything...

the good news: I got keys!! wad up! I can now enter the school when other people are not there, if I so desire!

the bad news: classroom is still being built and it looks the Saturday before school starts is when it'll be done..... if it doesn't rain.

SO I'm not really sure how to handle back to school night, not really sure how I'm going to get my classroom ready in one day, but nothing I can do!! So right now I'm trying to get stuff cut out and laminated and shop for all the things I need, that way it can just all be thrown together, wish me luck!!
